Description
The Trane CTR1494 Contactor is a heavy-duty electrical switch, used in larger commercial or industrial Trane HVAC systems. It runs on a standard 110-volt line and will take up to 30 amps. Unlike traditional switches which rely on mechanical contact to switch on/off current, contactors are electrically controlled and can thus be connected to thermostats and other control systems. It serves as a relay-like function to ensure efficient operation and protect those components from overload. The Trane Contactor is a 3-pole contactor, which means that it can control three separate circuits at once and has quick-connect terminals for easier installation.
