The Sporlan Controls 108629 Thermal-Expansion Valve (TXV) is an essential part that is used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, particularly for capacities of 2-1/4 to 3 tons. With 3/8” x 1/2” ODF connections and a 30-inch capillary tube, this valve controls the flow of refrigerant to the evaporator to guarantee its proper performance and efficiency. The TXV works on the basis of achieving a steady superheat, which ensures that liquid refrigerant does not get back to the compressor and cause harm. This is done through a sensing bulb that measures the temperature of refrigerant coming out of the evaporator and as temperatures change the valve modulates the flow of refrigerant.
