Description
The Carrier HN52DA024 24V Double Pole Single Throw Contactor, a solid switching device utilized in HVAC equipment. A contactor can work with higher electrical currents, which is what makes it just fine for controlling components such as compressors and motors. It works like a relay, in that it receives a low voltage signal from a thermostat or control board, which then activates an electromagnet within the contactor. This electromagnet physically switches a set of contacts, completing a separate high voltage circuit to power the HVAC component. This particular Carrier contactor is meant to be used in 24-volt control systems at 50 or 60 Hertz and is compact measuring 3.2″ long, 2.4″ wide, and 1.4″ high.
