Description
The Xylem-McDonnell & Miller FS7-4 flow switch is intended primarily for use in HVAC systems. It is a switch that determines whether fluid flow is present or absent rather than a valve. Its installation requires a 1 1/4-inch pipe thread, and its maximum pressure rating is 300 pounds per square inch. Single Pole Double Throw, or SPDT for short, is a device with one electrical input and two switchable outputs that are activated in response to the presence or absence of flow. These flow switches are frequently used in HVAC systems to regulate alarms, valves, and pumps. To save the boiler from harm, a flow switch can be used to turn off a heating system if it notices that no water is flowing.
