Description
The Trane TRR0966 is a step-down transformer or passive electrical equipment that safely step down the voltage in HVAC equipment. In other words, it turns a large voltage (in this case 120V) down to a smaller one, (24V). It achieves this by employing a primary coil and a secondary coil into which inductor coupling is employed to transfer electrical energy. Even the solenoid valves in HVAC systems and thermostats and all the control circuits are and safer to operate on this lesser voltage. The Trane is 4.5” involving length. It works at 50/60Hz AC and has an apparent rating of up to 50VA (volt-amperes).
