Description

Xylem-Hoffman Specialty Series H Float & Thermostatic Steam Trap — Model FT015H-6 (SKU 401626)

The Xylem-Hoffman Specialty Series H Float & Thermostatic (F&T) Steam Trap is a rugged, reliable solution engineered for continuous condensate drainage in low-pressure steam heating and process systems. Built with a durable cast iron body, this trap combines a float mechanism for continuous liquid discharge with an integral thermostatic air vent for efficient system start-up and non-condensable gas removal — all in a single, compact assembly.

Product Features & Benefits
  • Continuous Condensate Discharge: The float mechanism responds immediately to condensate load, providing smooth, continuous drainage without the hammer or surging associated with intermittent-discharge traps.
  • Integral Thermostatic Air Vent: Automatically purges air and non-condensable gases during system start-up and operation, improving heat transfer efficiency and reducing warm-up times.
  • .500″ Orifice: Sized for optimal flow capacity at 15 PSI operating pressure, ensuring reliable performance across a range of condensate loads.
  • Cast Iron Construction: The Series H cast iron body delivers long-lasting durability in demanding steam heating environments.
  • 1-1/2″ NPT Connections: Standard NPT threading allows straightforward installation into existing piping systems with no special adapters required.
  • Low-Pressure Steam Applications: Rated to 15 PSI, making it ideal for residential and light commercial steam heating systems, unit heaters, and process equipment.
  • Trusted Hoffman Specialty Engineering: Backed by Xylem’s legacy of hydronic and steam system expertise, the Series H trap is a proven performer in HVAC and industrial steam distribution.
Typical Applications
  • Low-pressure steam heating systems
  • Unit heaters and convectors
  • Steam coils and heat exchangers
  • Fan coil units on steam
  • Light commercial and institutional steam distribution
Installation Notes

Install with the float chamber in the correct orientation as indicated by the manufacturer’s markings. Ensure the trap inlet is connected to the condensate outlet of the steam-heated equipment and that the outlet is piped to the condensate return. The integral thermostatic air vent does not require separate installation. Always isolate and depressurize the system before servicing.
