Robertshaw 1970-060 Thermocouple is a replacement component used in gas-fired furnaces, boilers, water heaters and commercial heating equipment. Installed near the burner it sense the flame and generate a small electrical signal that keep the gas valve open during operation. If the flame goes out stops the signal allowing the valve to close and avoiding unburned gas flow in HVAC systems.
