Description

The York S1-025-29083-002 is an OEM rollout flame switch engineered to protect furnaces and heating systems from dangerous burner flame rollout conditions. When burner flames escape the combustion chamber and roll out beyond safe limits, this switch detects the resulting heat spike and immediately interrupts the circuit to shut down the system — preventing heat exchanger damage, component failure, and potential fire hazards.

How It Works

This SPST (Single-Pole, Single-Throw) switch monitors ambient temperature near the burner assembly. When temperatures reach the open setpoint of 300°F, the switch trips and breaks the circuit, cutting power to the gas valve or ignition system. Once the heat source is addressed and temperatures drop back to 220°F, the switch automatically resets — restoring normal operation without requiring manual intervention.

Application

The S1-025-29083-002 rollout switch is designed for use in York gas furnaces and compatible heating equipment. It mounts near the burner compartment to monitor for flame rollout — a condition typically caused by a blocked heat exchanger, restricted flue, or insufficient combustion air. Always verify compatibility with your specific equipment model before installation.
