Description
The York 024-31638-000 A special device of HVAC systems, compressor contactors are specifically designed to control the functioning of compressors. It works like a power button to regulate the flow of electric current the goes to the compressor in order to meet the set cooling or heating requirements of the system. This contactor is mostly used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems where proper system efficiency depends on reliable compressor control. The contactor breaks its circuit when the thermostat detects that the compressor motor requires either heating or cooling to get to the right temperature; this allows high voltage to get to the motor.
